Around 9 hours; final timing depends on paint condition

The appeal of a classic car lies in its lines, period character and details worth preserving. This white Toyota MR2 AW11 combines a low silhouette and pop-up headlamps with SUPER CHARGER lettering and a gold side stripe.

Using real workshop photographs, this case follows the exterior correction, cabin clean and coating package included in Car Rescue Level 1.

The owner's problem

The aim was not aggressive correction, but condition-led care that refreshed the white paint while preserving the period lettering, gold stripe and character of the cabin.

What we did

  1. 1Deep foam wash, with insect residue, sap and surface contamination treated as required.
  2. 2Clay decontamination to remove bonded particles before paint correction.
  3. 3Condition-led polishing and oxidation treatment, followed by degreasing.
  4. 4Interior and exterior glass cleaning, with pop-up headlamp restoration assessed by material and condition.
  5. 5Deep deodorising clean for two seats, two seat belts and high-touch cabin areas, plus mats, boot and trim.
  6. 6KOCH-CHEMIE CB0.02 single-layer coating package for bodywork, lamps and front windscreen.

Result

The white finish regained a clean, natural gloss, allowing the body lines, black trim, gold stripe and classic proportions to lead the visual character.

Aftercare

The one-year term describes the coating package, not a scratch-proof guarantee. Parking, wash method and maintenance affect real-world performance.

01

Preserving period character through careful paintwork

Under the studio lights, the white body reveals the creases across its nose and flanks, while the black roof frame, wheels and gold stripe sharpen the original proportions. The objective was a cleaner, more coherent finish rather than unnecessary heavy correction.

Each panel, edge, badge and material transition was considered before polishing. Vehicle age alone does not establish paint condition, so every treatment remains subject to inspection.

02

Correction begins with decontamination

The Level 1 process starts with a deep foam wash and targeted removal of stubborn residue, followed by clay decontamination. This prepares the surface before polishing rather than dragging bonded particles across the paint.

Polishing can improve oxidation and gloss, but it is not a respray. Deep scratches, chips, cracking or failed paint layers require separate assessment.

03

Natural gloss for a white classic

A white finish does not need exaggerated reflections to look resolved. A clean base colour, natural gloss and clearer panel lines return attention to the AW11's design. Degreasing after the appropriate polishing stages prepares the surfaces for protection.

04

Glass, lamps and two-seat cabin care

The pop-up headlamps are treated according to their material and condition, while interior and exterior glass receives a dedicated clean. Cabin work covers both seats and seat belts, touch points, mats, boot, door cards and dashboard.

Photocatalytic and ozone treatments support odour work and are carried out professionally, with nobody inside during ozone treatment and full ventilation afterwards.

05

HKD 3,999 with KOCH-CHEMIE coating package

Car Rescue Level 1 is HKD 3,999. For this package, the included gift is stated at over HKD 3,800: a one-year KOCH-CHEMIE CB0.02 single-layer body coating, plus CB0.02 treatment for the front and rear lamps and front windscreen.

The one-year description is not a no-wash promise or scratch warranty. Suitability for individual surfaces remains subject to an on-site material check.

06

Allow around nine hours

Level 1 generally requires around 9 hours, with actual timing determined by paint condition. Drop-off and collection must be confirmed in advance; an estimated duration is not a guaranteed same-day handover.

For a classic car, allowing the condition to dictate the process matters more than rushing completion. Sending photographs and priority areas before the appointment helps the team prepare.
