Q1. Why does the windshield need an oil-film strip first?
Everyday driving builds up diesel exhaust residue, spent washer fluid and worn wiper-rubber film on the windshield. That film stops rain from beading properly, makes wipers streak, and scatters oncoming headlights at night. Stripping it first means the coating that follows lasts a full 4–6 months instead of a few weeks.
Q2. How is this different from a coating at a regular glass shop?
Most shops just spray on a fluoropolymer layer, which fails within weeks if the oil film underneath was never removed. We run a two-step process: (1) cerium-oxide compound with a machine polisher to strip the film, then (2) a rain-repellent coating cured with infrared heat — giving 3x the lifespan of a standard coating.
Q3. How long does it take, and do I need to wait on site?
Plan A takes about 1–2 hours. You're welcome to relax in our waiting area with free wifi and coffee. If you're short on time, we can run it alongside an AI robotic wash and have you out in as little as 60 minutes.
Q4. Do I really need to do this before rainy season?
Hong Kong sees the heaviest rainfall from May to September, so a downpour right after coating is the best real-world test of the water-beading effect. From October, cabin humidity causes windshield fogging, and a coated windshield is easier to wipe clear — so it's useful year-round.
Q5. Should I choose Plan A or Plan B?
If you just want a clear front view in storms, tunnels and at night, Plan A at HK$488 is enough. If you often park in exposed rooftop spots, notice heavy water streaking on the side windows, or want full protection for a new car, upgrade to Plan B at HK$988 for all-round glass coating.
