Paint Correction Hong Kong
Swirl-Mark Removal · Correction Pricing
Paint correction (machine polishing) uses controlled abrasion to level out swirl marks, spider webbing and wash marring on your paint. This page lists our Kwun Tong studio's three public price tiers, what each can realistically fix, the step-by-step process and what polishing simply cannot do — so you know exactly what to expect before booking.

Our five-step correction process
1. Paint thickness measurement
We measure paint depth (µm) panel by panel, flag repainted or thin sections, and set a safe cutting limit.
2. Iron removal and clay decontamination
Chemical iron and tar removal first, then a clay bar lifts embedded particles so polishing doesn't cause fresh scratches.
3. Test-spot the formula
We test on an inconspicuous panel to confirm the pad and compound combination, avoiding over-cutting the whole car.
4. Staged cutting and finishing
We start with the strongest cutting stage and refine down to a mirror finish, checking every panel under a swirl-finder light.
5. Degrease and seal
An IPA wipe-down lets us seal the result with a coating right away, warranted for 1–5 years depending on the product tier.
What polishing cannot fix
- · A scratch that catches your fingernail has already gone through the clear coat — polishing can only lessen it, not remove it fully.
- · Thin paint or previously repainted panels are treated conservatively; we flag these and keep a paint-thickness record on file.
- · Dents, chipped paint and rust are body-shop work, beyond what paint correction can fix.
- · Matte / satin finishes cannot be polished and need a dedicated care plan instead.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does paint correction cost in Hong Kong?
- LETS GET WASH Kwun Tong lists single-stage polishing from HK$1,800, two-stage correction from HK$3,200 and three-stage flagship correction from HK$5,800. The final quote depends on panel area, damage level and paint thickness, confirmed after a free inspection.
- Will swirl marks come back after correction?
- They can, since swirl marks mostly come from incorrect wash technique. We recommend pairing correction with a ceramic coating or PPF and switching to a two-bucket or AI robotic-arm assisted wash to cut down on abrasive contact.
- Does polishing damage the paint?
- Any polishing removes an extremely thin layer of clear coat. We measure paint thickness panel by panel, run a test spot first, and keep before/after data so the work stays within a safe margin.
- Should correction and ceramic coating be done together?
- Yes, ideally. A coating locks in whatever the paint looks like underneath — if you coat over swirl marks, they get sealed in. Correcting first, then coating, is what keeps the mirror finish.
- How long do I need to leave the car with you?
- Half a day to a day for single-stage, 1–2 days for two-stage, 2–3 days for three-stage. Add a ceramic coating on top and you'll need another 24 hours for curing — we confirm the pickup date when you book.
