Coating prices and package comparison

The following are 2026 public prices (HKD). Deep swirl marks need paint correction first, from HK$1,800 depending on depth; we always run a free paint inspection before quoting.

  • Koch-Chemie dual-layer ceramic coatingHK$3,980

Two ceramic layers for oxidation and acid-rain resistance — dirt lifts off far more easily when you wash.

    1 – 2 days · About 2 – 3 years · Daily drivers wanting a one-time boost to water-beading and gloss

  • CYBRIX 9H ceramic coating (USA)HK$4,800

9H hardness ceramic layer balancing durability and longevity, kept in shape with annual maintenance.

1 – 3 days · About 5 years · New cars, or drivers wanting to stretch out the maintenance cycle

  • Williams Racing SHP self-healing coating (UK)HK$8,800

Self-healing top layer — light swirl marks flatten back out with heat from the sun.

2 – 3 days · About 5 years · Dark colours, or owners who really mind swirl marks

  • Glass coating (oil-film removal included)HK$888

Oil-film removed first, then a hydrophobic coating applied — oncoming headlight glare drops noticeably at night in the rain.

    About 2 hours · 6 – 12 months · Rainy-day visibility, night-time glare

  • Wheel coating (outer barrel / full barrel)HK$1,200 / HK$2,800

Heat-resistant coating so brake dust stops embedding in the wheel face — a plain rinse keeps it clean.

3 hours – 1 day · About 1 – 2 years · Brake dust baked onto the wheel face, never quite clean after a wash

The five-step coating process

  1. ① Paint inspection & quote

We measure paint-film thickness and note swirl-mark depth to decide whether polishing (from HK$1,800) is needed first.

  2. ② Deep iron & tar removal

Iron particles, tar and water spots are stripped first — coating over unremoved contamination just seals it in.

  3. ③ Paint correction (if needed)

Graded polishing removes swirl marks; deep scratches are only corrected within a realistic range, and we explain the limits before starting.

  4. ④ Degrease & application

IPA wipe-down, then panel-by-panel application in a controlled temperature and humidity environment to avoid uneven flow.

  5. ⑤ Curing & handover

We inspect after curing and walk you through the 48-hour no-rain window, washing method and maintenance-product use.

Aftercare: a practical routine for Hong Kong drivers

  • · Avoid rain and washing for 48 hours after pickup while the coating fully cures.
  • · Wash with a pH-neutral shampoo every 2–3 weeks; avoid highly alkaline foam and stiff brushes.
  • · Rinse off acid rain and salt as soon as possible after the wet season to stop water-spot etching.
  • · Top up with maintenance product every 3–6 months (already included in our HK$198 coating maintenance wash).
  • · Deal with A/C drip spots, tree sap and bird droppings on the same day they land.

Frequently asked questions

How much does ceramic coating cost in Hong Kong?
On LETS GET WASH Kwun Tong's 2026 public price list: Koch-Chemie dual-layer ceramic coating HK$3,980, CYBRIX 9H ceramic coating HK$4,800, Williams Racing SHP self-healing coating HK$8,800; glass coating HK$888, wheel coating from HK$1,200. If your paint has swirl marks that need correcting first, that is quoted separately from HK$1,800. None of these prices change by vehicle size.
How long does ceramic coating last?
It depends on the product and how it is maintained: entry dual-layer ceramic lasts about 2–3 years, 9H ceramic and self-healing coatings about 5 years, and glass coating 6–12 months. Overall warranty range is 1–5 years, provided you keep using a pH-neutral wash and coating maintenance product and avoid highly alkaline cleaners.
Do I still need to wash the car after coating?
Yes. Coating makes dirt harder to stick, but it does not replace washing. We recommend a maintenance wash every 2–3 weeks; our coating maintenance wash is HK$198 (Koch-Chemie S0.02) and tops up the water-repellent layer at the same time.
What is the difference between coating and PPF — which should I choose?
Coating is about gloss, water-beading and oxidation resistance, and does nothing against stone chips; PPF is a physical TPU film that can absorb stone-chip impact and self-heal. If budget allows, most owners choose "PPF underneath, coating on top"; if you mainly want easy cleaning and shine, coating alone is enough.
Is coating worth it on an older car?
Yes, but the paint needs prep work first. Older cars usually have swirl marks, water spots and oxidation, so we correct the paint before coating — otherwise the coating just seals the flaws in permanently. We always start with a free paint inspection before quoting.
How long do I need to leave the car with you?
Ceramic coating generally needs 1–3 days including polishing and curing; glass coating is about 2 hours and can be collected the same day. You can confirm your pickup date when you book, and we message you once it's ready.
